Week #17 - Wrapping It Up

Overall, while I've certainly used more social media in the last semester than I have...the rest of my life, really, I don't think my viewpoint on it from a personal perspective has changed. On the business side, I absolutely see all of the reasons to use it - it's a great way to get people to pay attention to your business and your ideas, and is a great way to reach a majority of people without difficulty. I think I might prefer social media more if it was simply used for businesses, rather than being inundated with personal information that maybe shouldn't be shared so vastly. I get way more how to use it for a business now as well. Facebook was always just a personal thing in my mind for a very long time, but this class has definitely shown how it can be used in a business acumen sense as well, driving traffic and generating revenue for the business simply by having the page at all in some cases. Week #16A - Planning Your Future Strategy

I'm not a big social media person myself - the only sites I routinely make use of are Twitch, YouTube and Reddit, and even those are more for personal use than anything else. I would like to use Google Analytics and well placed Facebook ads primarily, as those can provide both the information I need to see how the site is being used, as well as a tasteful way to appeal to consumers in a broad sense, and draw in potential backers to the project. I think for the most part, a weekly or even bi-weekly pu

Week #15A - Optimizing Yourself and the Company

The most important things in analytics to keep tabs on use behavior and audience reports, as well as user flow and conversion. These analytics show how often people are using the site, and from what age groups, which can assist in knowing if something needs to be changed or altered to direct more appropriate traffic in certain directions. User flow is great for figuring out if the links are directing people in the way that I and the business would like, or if they need to be redesigned to properly guide the experience through. Behavioral analysis means that I can get insight as to how people use the site, and from there figure out what works out best for placement of ads, how to disseminate information, and how to make sure that people are getting what they need and what I'm after out of the site itself. The same goes for audience reports, getting demographic information and individual behavior rather than just it in aggregate, which allows for a more personalized experience browsi
