Week #13B - Facebook Ad Options

The advertising that my business could use, I feel, should be mostly unobtrusive and not invading on the overall message and feel of the business itself. As a primarily medical/therapeutic option, I feel that going in too much on advertising could feel cheap and rude, as it draws away from the impact that the software is supposed to have.

Ones that I would try in particular would be simple ads on the sides of the Facebook page - right column ads in particular, and infrequently in the News Feed on the main page. Both of these offer the option to see the ads and interact with them if the user so chose, without directly interrupting their experience. I wouldn't want to place any ads in the Videos, as that could interrupt the viewing process and distract the user from checking out what the intent behind the business is. Video ads are a huge detriment in the enjoyment of a video, and I want the focus to be on the product, not on something else coming in mid way.

1. I think a monthly newsletter would be best - things like updates on how each project is going, what's coming down the pipe, and information about upcoming deals and sales. Week #3A - Communication

Trying to get the attention of a business can be one of the hardest things imaginable - I know from personal experience! Most of the time, you're routed into automated voice messages and solutions that you've tried before, and it takes forever to get in touch with another real person to try and have your problem even acknowledged, let alone looked at. It's a real hassle - but thankfully, with the advent of social media, those problems are...alleviated, at the very least. Social media - especially Twitter, in this case - does make it easier to get noticed. Tagging the customer service account for the business in question - or even people you know who are employed there -can help raise awareness of your issue. On top of that, others with the same issue come out of the woodwork to report on it as well, adding their voices to yours. Week #10A - Blogging for Business

Adding touches to blog posts that let people relate to your content is a great idea, but not in every situation. You want people to form positive personal experiences with your content - stories that make them reflect and remember things from their own life, that let them connect with the person behind the blog, writing the posts. You want to reassure people of their choices, allow them to make smart decisions, and let them share the news of your blog and your company to others, to drive business to your place instead of someone else's. Including things like calls to action (like directly telling them how to get in touch with you, or using phrases like act now!, etc.), and showcases of your products/services are great ways to add personal touches to your content. You want these things to reinforce decisions that customers make to shop at your business, instead of goings somewhere else, and to assuage any fears they might have of shopping somewhere new.
